How we fundraise

Couple finishing Run 10kOur life-saving work is entirely funded by the public. None of it would be possible without the generosity and commitment of the millions of people that support us. For more information on other ways you can support Cancer Research UK, please visit our Support Us website

Make a donation

You can set up a regular donation by direct debit, donate online or give through a payroll scheme at work. Some people give in celebration of a special event like a wedding, anniversary or birthday. Others donate in memory of a loved one. You can also donate to a specific project that interests you.

Leave a legacy

Many people choose to remember others, or continue their support after they have gone, by making a gift in their Will. Legacies fund over a third of our life-saving work.

Join a local group or committee

You can help raise money by joining a local fundraising group, or even forming your own committee. Across the UK, our supporters are finding creative ways to raise money, from producing charity calendars, to helping design and create our award-winning garden for the annual Royal Horticultural Show.

Visit our shops

We have nearly 600 shops around the UK where you can buy or donate goods. And to make shopping even easier, we’ve launched our very own online shopping site www.shoptobeatcancer.org.uk

Take part in our events

If you want to get active and raise money for Cancer Research UK, there’s a wealth of events you can take part in. They range from our flagship, women-only Race for Life, to our newest event, Shine, a half or full walking marathon that takes place at night. Our Relay For Life celebrates the lives of people touched by cancer. Or you could take part in a sports challenge for Cancer Research UK - we have places available in a wide range of events all over the country and abroad.

Support us at work

We already work in partnership with a range of companies. Working with us can deliver impressive benefits for your business – from boosting sales to motivating staff. Holding an event in aid of Cancer Research UK is also a great way to entertain clients, thank suppliers and win new business

Come along to a special event

Our special events provide companies, friends and families the opportunity to eat, drink, network and enjoy amazing live entertainment – past performers include Boyzone, Gary Barlow, Paul Weller and Robert Plant.

Our high-profile events include the glamorous Emeralds & Ivy Ball and Sound & Vision, our annual heritage music event held at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios. By making a date for your diary, you’ll help raise essential funds for our life-saving work.

Volunteer

You can join the 44,500 people who regularly volunteer for us on our internship schemes, helping in our shops or volunteering at one of our events.
